Maia, I love how people from many different cultures come together to learn about the Pueblos and their traditions thanks to The Feasting Place. Thanks for showing us another bright spot in New Mexico.
Maia, I never knew about this! Wow, every time I read your posts, I feel increasingly drawn to return to New Mexico. I'd love to participate in one of these feasting rituals and meet other people from all sorts of backgrounds while also learning about and appreciating Native culture and food. ❤️
Here's a little secret, Jeannie -- at some point I'm probably going to offer a sort of concierge service here. I love it when people come to Northern NM and I can share some of these wonderful experiences with them. I'm harvesting the fruits of having lived here 17 years now and getting to know the people and the place.
A perfect post! History of place, food, community, Elder wisdom, the Divine Feminine, Indigenous culture, and an overall excellently written piece that captured it fully and richly. Thank you Maia! I LOVED this!!!
Sounds like such a wonderful experience! Thank you for sharing it!
Thank you for this wonderful post! Another place I’ve got to visit in the coming months!
Norma is great!
