Daredevil apricots, I like that! I remember well the apricot trees alongside the roads in Arroyo Seco, where I was staying in a cabin for a few months. I gathered a few dozen fallen fruits, put them in the oven at 100 degrees for a while, and enjoyed dried apricots for the rest of the summer!
I felt like I was reading a description of the Garden of Eden! X/X/X Great Spirit! What you shared in this post prompted me to want to learn more about the Tewa people and other Native American peoples of what is now “New Mexico.” One outline of New Mexico, from long ago times, showed nothing but areas occupied by First Peoples of a variety of tribes. Perhaps the rocky, mountainous terrain of the current un-ceded lands of the Tewa made it “undesirable” for cattle grazing.
I’ll stop my “what iffing” and focus on my gratitude for what you shared with us today. 🙏🏽
If you stick around Postcards long enough you'll get a chance to hear more about the Tewa people of the Northern Rio Grande. who are still very much here!

It made me so happy to see all the blooming!
What's it doing in NYC right now, Sal? Do you have signs of spring?
