Welcome to Postcards from New Mexico!
Two Sundays a month I share beauty, stories, and culture from this region that has been my home since 2008.
Dear friends,
I’m sending this short, extra message this month to wish you the warmest of holiday greetings, and to thank you for being a subscriber to Postcards from New Mexico. Whatever you celebrate this time of year, I hope you and your loved ones are embraced by joy, love, and hope.
It’s been a true delight to create these Postcards for you over the past 10 months since this publication’s inception in March, and I look forward to sharing more New Mexico adventures in the coming year. I’m taking the month of January “off” from Substack so I can put in some super-focused time on my memoir-in-progress, and also to plan a schedule of sites and stories to write about here. Your suggestions are always welcome! Just leave a comment or reply to this message.
I’ll be back in February with new Postcards and possibly some other surprises for you! Until then, here are a few of the most popular posts from this year to tide you over…
Wish you were here!

I visited NM for my Birthday in October. And fell in love with the desert, the piñones, the hot springs... like so many do.
Have a wonderful and rich January, Maia! I'm heading to the southwest tomorrow morning but not close enough to visit, unfortunately. Jennifer and I will be spending Christmas week in Tucson. At least we'll enjoy the same open space and blue sky!!
